Periods are a fact of life and so is the need for menstrual products. Not having the product you need when you need it can make staying connected to community difficult. Too many single parents must choose between buying tampons or food for their families. Too many trans and non-binary kids are scrambling silently in washrooms, putting together makeshift pads that do not suit their needs. And too many families miss out on social events because it is easier to stay home than risk bleeding in public.

To put it simply, too many people are missing out on life because they don’t have easy access to menstrual products. Nobody should have to pick between feeding their family and being able to afford basic hygiene products. Sadly, too many people can’t afford them. But you can change that.

The Period Promise campaign funded locally by Northumberland United Way and Thrive Northumberland asks us to be a part of the solution. Together, we can tackle period poverty and make our community more accessible for everybody.

We've made the Period Promise and our local response to this global issue begins NOW.  We're co-hosting a collection drive from today until June 3 and would love you to join us.

To participate please see the options below:

  • Drop off donations of new, sealed product such as tampons, pads, panty liners, menstrual underwear, menstrual cups at Nourish Boutique Spa (located at 727 William Street, Cobourg) on Tuesdays 12:00-6:00 or have them shipped to us. We will have a drop box outside our front door to ensure everyone’s safety during COVID-19.
  •  Monetary contribution can also be made directly online HERE
  • Purchase a Muff on the Move travel kit and we'll donate the proceeds directly to Period Promise Northumberland.

We will be organizing the donations to drop off to Period Promise Northumberland and all COVID-19 safety measures will be followed. Period Promise Northumberland will then distribute the products to individuals and non-profit organizations in need across Northumberland County.

Thank you SO MUCH in advance for your gift of basic feminine hygiene products. You are helping vulnerable people in our community live with the dignity we all deserve. 🙏
